Situated in a valley near Mussoorie, Sainji is a village in Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand.

Popularly known to people as the Corn Village, this spot has recently gained attraction from the people who look for experiential travel.

How To Reach Sainji Village?

It is about a two hours drive from Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. Take the road to Mussoorie & then follow the route to Kempty Falls. It is about 5kms from there. 

What to expect?

While entering the village you will find a school on the left side and the fields on the right, depending on the time of visit you can find different crops being harvested.

A small path leads you into the village with a water stream running along the path. Following the trail, you’ll reach the centre of the village, an open courtyard where all the main celebrations of the community take place.

The main centre of attention here is a vernacular wooden home decorated with paintings on the wood and the corn being tied in bunches to dry and stock for the rest of the year. 

You can also experience the authentic village life and help them in their day to day life while having the local food with the families.

Life here is peaceful and close to nature, you can spend quality time admiring the natural beauty of the place as well.
